The Edmonton International Beerfest hangover
Ok, so last night we hit the EIB and we tried a lot of beer, however, it was more of a local affair than an international beer experience. The big guys from Molson and Budweiser were there of course but the festival featured mostly microbrewries from around the country like Mill St. Brewery and the Jasper Brewing Co. And of course the local guys from Alley Kat and Amber's were out in full force to promote their brews.
The highlight of the night for me was the Head Smashed IPA from Banff Ave Brewing Co. It was a hoppy punch to the mouth that makes you want to take another one to the face. Overall, I'd rate it 8 airport patdowns out of 10.... good stuff!
Another notable libation was the Crabbie's Ginger Beer. It's basically a very sweet alcopop but it is super drinkable and could be enjoyed on its own or as a mix (which could get dangerous).
It was a fun event and a great warm up for beer adventures to come. Right now, however, I must nurse my raging hangover.....
